We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver for a part time opportunity within a company that is committed to the team and has great values.

About your new role...

We're looking for someone who is energetic, physically fit for the role, enjoys driving trucks, and wants to get ‘stuck in' to get the job done. If you get along easily with people, have flexibility with your availability, then you have what we are looking for.

Working at the Port and associated properties, you will be an essential member of a small team that is driven to support the efficient operation of our yards and wharves.

Flexibility with hours worked is required, with weekly hours beginning at approximately 20 per week. Additional hours depend on projects and weather conditions. You'll also cover for the full-time team members when they are on leave.

Your day-to-day work includes:

  • Operation of plant and machinery including, but not limited to, trucks, watercarts, and other mobile plants, to provide a safe operating environment across port.
  • Operate the dust suppressant to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Recovery and removal of debris from yards and wharves.
  • Undertaking basic repairs and maintenance on plants and machinery.
  • Assisting with ensuring the yard, pavements, wharves, port entrances, and surfaces are clean and swept.

A bit about you...

Experience with driving heavy machinery is high on your skill set, along with a good knowledge of tools and equipment use associated with maintenance tasks.

You're someone who loves to work with others, finds adapting to changing priorities easy, you get a real kick out of seeing a project through to completion, and getting in a good days' work.

You will have a class 4 licence, and a few years of applicable experience. Forklift, wheel, tracks and rollers are also desirable, but not essential as training can be provided for this.
